Installing Power BI Desktop

Please be sure you have reviewed the following pages before proceeding. If you are Power BI consumers (e.g. view reports only, not creating reports), you do not need to install Power BI Desktop.

Installation Instructions

  1. Find Microsoft Store on your computer. When you download Power BI Desktop from Microsoft Store, the update will automatically be done.

  2. Once the store is open, search "Power BI Desktop". Click Get button() to start intall Power BI Desktop.  Follow the each step.

 If you don't have access to Microsoft Store, please follow the insturctions below.

  1. Right click this link to open it in a new tab and log into your Microsoft account using your UMS single sign-on credentials
  2. Navigate back to this page and use this link to install free Power BI desktop software
  3. Click the "See Download or Language Options" 
  4. Choose a language and select Download

  5. On the next screen, select the 64bit installation option, and follow the rest of the install directions.

 If you followed these directions and get a screen like the one below indicating your Microsoft Store has been blocked, you are not signed in to Microsoft. Follow this link to log in to your Microsoft account using your UMS single sign-on credentials.
