Blended

In-Person & Online - A course section where approximately half of on-site class meetings are replaced by online meetings or activity.

OL

Online Low Residency

Mostly Online - A primarily online course section with minimal on-site requirements.

Online Synchronous

Fully Online With Scheduled Meetings - A course section where 100% of course activity and class meetings are completed online, with some or all class meetings requiring video or audio technology during class meetings.

Assigned by campusExams should be offered online with no in person requirement. Academic departments / programs should make decisions about specific needs for any in person exam and communicate explicitly to students.

OA

Online Asynchronous

Fully Online With No Scheduled Meetings - A course section where 100% of course activity and class meetings are completed online with no required online meeting times.

Hyflex

Flexible/Multi-Option - A single course section with the option to attend on-site, attend via video or audio technology during class meeting times, or watch a recording of the course meetings, or any combination of the three throughout the semester. 

Assigned by campusExams may be available in person, but should be accessible online for students who choose to not attend in person.
