Purpose/Rationale

Allow entry of instructor workload for sections offered in a given term

Notes

Access to this data entry page is tied to the S_SR_CLASS_PERMISSION role.


  1. Set up the two Assignment Types
    1. Navigation: Curriculum Management > Instructor/Advisor Information > Assignment Type
    2. Select Add a New Value tab
    3. Effective date needs be on or before the effective date on the Institution Table (see below)
    4. Enter code for desired Assignment Type (current process uses TCH – Teaching and NTC – non-teaching)
    5. Select Add button
  2. Define the new Assignment Types:
    1. Effective date must be on or before the effective date on the Institution Table (see Step 5)
  3. Set up the Instructor Assignment Class
    1. Navigation: Curriculum Management > Instructor/Advisor Information > Instructor Assignment Class
    2. Select Add a New Value tab
    3. Effective date needs be on or before the effective date on the Institution Table (see Step 5)
    4. Enter code for desired Instructor Assignment Class
    5. Select Add button


  4. Define the Instructor Assignment Class using values as shown below.
  5. Set up workload for the Institution
    1. Navigation: Set Up SACR > Foundation Tables > Academic Structure > Academic Institution Table
    2. Select the Academic Institution 4 tab
    3. Will need to Correct History to change data
    4. Select the Calculate Workload box and the page will expand to show additional fields
    5. Enter the values for Assignment Type and Instructor Assignment Class
  6. Run the Copy/Update Workload process to populate data to the workload tables.  This will need to be done as part of the Schedule of Classes process for each term. 
    1. Navigation: Curriculum Management > Roll Curriculum Data Forward > Copy / Update Workload Process
    2. Create a Run Control ID or access an existing one previously created for this process
    3. Enter the term for the update - Roll From Term and Roll To Term must match
    4. Select Run
    5. Output can be reviewed if desired
      1. Select the Process Monitor link to view status of the process
      2. When Posted, select the Details link to view the various output reports
      3. When the process is completed, data will have been populated to the INSTRUCTOR_TERM and INSTR_TERM_DTL PS Query Tables

  7. Security Liaison: Assign the S_SR_CLASS_PERMISSIONS role to those who need access to the data entry page
  8. Repeat Step #6 (Run Copy/Update Workload Process) periodically to ensure changes to sections and additional sections are also set up appropriately.
