Veterans, Nursing

Report Purpose

This query returns information on veterans enrolled in Nursing programs (as part of the Nursing Program Integration project). By aggregating veteran enrollments across nursing programs, department and program leaders (among others) can get a better sense of how many students enter such programs with potential previous medical training (note that veteran status is a proxy for medical training–veteran status in itself merely suggests the possibility of having such training). Students are the unit of analysis. Students are coded as veterans if they ever self-reported as a veteran, received any veteran chapter benefits, received a tuition waiver based on military status, or ever received any type of military tuition assistance (e.g., Go Army).
