Data Model re-usability is one of the important components in Power BI. There are distinct advantages to reusing datasets whenever possible:
- Fewer data refresh operations
Reduces duplication of data stored across datasets
Less memory usage in Premium Capacity (if need to distribute to free users)
Lower maintenance across datasets
Row Level Security is maintained in fewer datasets as well as reduced security concerns
