What is a Power BI Consumer?

Do you need to view reports and dashboards to obtain data relevant for your job? Do you sometimes advise others on the types of data to display in reports? You may be a Power BI Consumer.  The way you interact with Power BI depends on your job role. Consumers to not write reports, create dashboards on reports, or create or edit datasets. As a consumer, you're the person who receives dashboards, reports, and apps from designers who create them. Also, you work in the online version of Power BI (called Power BI service) reviewing and interacting with this data to make business decisions.

If you are a Power BI consumer, you may gain access to reports in one of the following ways:

1.  You've received an email with a link to a privately shared report on the Power BI Service (powerbi.com):

2.  You've been sent to a website, such as maine.edu, to view a web page containing a public report. What can you do with it?
